Learn and earn
Water Education Institute courses consist of two full day sessions. Teachers get the chance to meet and interact with local water
experts to learn more about water issues. Teachers will receive an "H2O:The
Source" water resource kit, filled with lesson plans, activities
and classroom materials. The field trips include visits to the Gardens at the Springs Preserve, the River Mountains Water Treatment Plant and the Las Vegas Wash.
Teachers attending these sessions can earn 1 PDE credit. To receive 1 PDE credit, a $10 administrative
fee (by check payable to the Clark County School District) is due on the
first day of the course.
Classes are held at the Las Vegas Valley Water
District offices, located at 1001 S. Valley View Blvd. Enter through the
customer entrance off Valley View, just north of Charleston Boulevard.
