| The
Springs Preserve
In the middle of the Las Vegas Valley, near
the Meadows Mall, is a place where natural
springs used to flow out of the ground. This is where Native Americans,
early travelers and the first Las Vegans found water.
The first wells that gave water to Las Vegas were drilled
there. The Las Vegas Valley Water District owns the land and is protecting
it. This also is where the Water District and others created what is now known as the Springs Preserve.
The Springs Preserve is packed with beautiful
gardens, walking trails, interesting exhibits and even a desert living center. |
