Mount Charleston
Mount CharlestonCan you see Mount Charleston from where you are? It's that tall mountain northwest of Las Vegas. In the winter, the top is covered with snow.

In the spring, the snow melts and becomes water. Some of the water makes small rivers. Some of the water runs down inside the mountain.

Far underground, the water moves very slowly toward Las Vegas. Hundreds and even thousands of years later, this water reaches Las Vegas. We dig wells to get to the water.
