| Southern Nevada Water System
(SNWS)
Southern
Nevada's water treatment system is called the Southern Nevada Water System
(SNWS). It was first put into operation in 1971. It is operated by the
Southern Nevada Water Authority.
SNWS pumps water from Lake
Mead. It treats the water with ozonation, water filters and chlorine.
Then, the Water System sends the water to the different water agencies
in town like the Las Vegas Valley Water District and City of Henderson,
which deliver the water to your home.
