| Southern
Nevada Water Authority (SNWA)
The
Southern Nevada Water Authority was formed in 1991 by the different water
agencies that deliver water to everyone's homes and to businesses.
Nevada needed the Water Authority
In the early 1990s, Southern Nevada faced a drought.
It needed more water and it needed to conserve the water it already had.
The water agencies in the valley joined forces to create
the Southern Nevada Water Authority so they could work together to educate
the public about water conservation, deal with the drought and find other
water sources for our fast-growing community.
The SNWA is made up of the following agencies:
- Big Bend Water District (Laughlin, NV)
- City of Boulder City
- Las Vegas Valley Water District
- City of North Las Vegas
- City of Henderson
- City of Las Vegas
- Clark County Water Reclamation District (wastewater
treatment facility)
