Taste
Southern Nevada's water meets all state and federal safety laws. During the
water-treatment process, the Water Authority adds chlorine to clean the water. Many people find the chlorine taste in water unpleasant.

Use these tips to help improve the flavor of your tap water.

  • Chill the water. Put a pitcher of tap water in the refrigerator. This will help the chlorine dissolve. After a few hours, the water will taste better.

  • Add fruit. Add a lemon or orange slice to your drinking water. This will help overpower the chlorine taste.

  • Water filters. Your family can purchase home filter systems to help remove bad odors and taste.
