Bathroom
A lot of the water you use inside your home gets
used in the bathroom. Learn more about the water you use and how to save
water in the bathroom.
| Shower Tips |

|
- Try to limit your showers to 5 minutes or less.
- Shortening your shower time by 1 minute would save 2,000 gallons
of water every year.
- Baths use more water than showers. Take more showers than baths.
- If you take a bath, fill the tub only half way.
|
| Toilet Tips |
- Ask your family to install an early-closure flapper. It can
save up to 1.5 gallons per flush.
- If your toilet water keeps running or if your toilet flushes
by itself sometimes, you may have a leak. Watch the video Detecting
and Silencing Leaks.
- Don't use the toilet as a trash can.
|
| Faucet Tips |
- About 4,000
gallons of water comes out of your faucets every year.
- Leaky faucets can waste more than a gallon
of water a day.
- Finding and fixing leaks around your
home can save up to 9,000 gallons of water a year.
- Turn the water off when brushing your teeth.
- Fill the sink with water when you wash your face instead of
letting the water run.
